About Aloka
The walk home deserves a better map.
A map can tell you where a street goes. Aloka asks what is there when you arrive: working lights, open doors, clear sightlines, and recent observations from people on foot.
We map conditions, not people.
The space between the pins matters.
The last few streets after a metro journey. The unfamiliar road outside a hotel. The route home after a late shift. These are ordinary decisions, and the information that helps is often scattered or missing.
Aloka brings positive, observable conditions together. Open datasets provide a starting layer; structured community check-ins, called Lanterns, can confirm and correct it. The Time Dial makes the hour part of the question.
We start with the person walking alone after dark, while keeping the map open to everyone. Lenses let someone bring their context without being assigned an identity. A warmer glow means more evidence for the conditions shown. It never ranks the people who live nearby.
Look inside the glow →One city, deeply.
Aloka starts in New Delhi. The first imported area is central Delhi, with its extent and source dates published openly. You can explore beyond it, but the map does not turn a lack of evidence into a claim about that street.
Coverage grows through usable open data, careful checking, and people contributing what they actually observed. A city vote tells us where there is interest; it is not a launch announcement.
That focus keeps the work concrete: make one more walk easier to understand, and make every reading explainable.

The public Lightmap and walking-route comparisons are free. Our commercial model is to offer organizations data access, licensing, and integration support around the same underlying evidence.
An organization can ask for a data sheet or discuss a use case. It cannot purchase a warmer score, hide an inconvenient observation, or pay to appear in a route. We do not sell personal movement histories.
Data access remains subject to source licences and the privacy limits that protect community contributions. A commercial agreement does not remove those limits.
Work with Aloka →You should be able to reach us.
Aloka is operated by the Aloka team. Our commitments are public, and questions about the map, data corrections, accessibility, or privacy reach the same team.
If a source is wrong, tell us which public place or record needs attention. If a contribution crosses the line, report it in the map so it can be reviewed with its context.
